The start of Fall is truly my favourite time of year. The colours, smells and textures at this time are ripe for inspiration, and with Thanksgiving approaching next month, it’s the perfect time to get into the season and style our home and get togethers.
Traditional colour palettes of golden hues, warm browns and hints of oranges always work well for Thanksgiving, but this year, try infusing something different or a little unexpected. Metallics are still very much on point, and in my Thanksgiving inspiration, I used a little metallic and a splash of purple. I drew these colours from the fantastic table runner and built the design from there. With mauve accents, bold purples, gold and burlap, this Thanksgiving palette is a modern take on the traditional.
Florals are a fabulous way to try something unexpected with colour and texture, so if you prefer to keep your decor and style more traditional, use florals as an opportunity to bring an interesting colour to the mix.
Whatever your style, whatever your theme, have fun creating a look that speaks to your holiday design perspective.
