Travelling has always been a huge inspiration for me. The sites, smells, vibrancy of a place really energizes and you can find so much beauty and interest in something new to you. A recent visit to the U.K. really awakened my senses and I had to share some of the fun pics.
Aren’t these florals so incredible? Snapped at Wild Things Flowers in Mayfair, this little sidewalk grouping has so much texture, so much colour and so much variety, it’s amazing.
You cannot be in London without popping in at Fortnum & Mason. Their displays and product showcases are always so creative and inventive. This one for tea has a ton of inspiration to use in party planning; love the garland, lights and colours.
Another shot from Fortnum & Mason. The amazing central spiral staircase is covered in artificial blooms that set the tone for the wonderful selection of fresh florals on the lower level. And what florals they are! The variety is spectacular, I was itching to create something.
No stop in London would be complete without a spot of Afternoon Tea. There is so much variety in afternoon tea offerings now that whatever you crave you can find. Our tea at Claridge’s was indulgent to say the least. The way items are plated, in clean rows is fantastic and those plates…just fabulous.
I popped down to the river area and stopped in at the Corinthia hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful and I just loved this display in the Lobby Lounge. It’s very simplistic in its approach with a singular floral, but the asymmetrical placing of each and by using many of the same variety, the look is modern and different.
What inspires you when you travel? Obviously for me, I enjoy the colours and textures that florals provide, but inspiration can come from anything; architecture, art, food, interior design…it’s endless. Always be open to finding it in unexpected places and you’ll find that you’ll be full of ideas to use for your next party or in your home.
