Like I’ve said before, I love Autumn. The colours, smells, temperature. It’s a wonderful transition time from a hot and humid Summer into the cold chill of Winter. I try to savour every minute.
I also think that Autumn is a fantastic time to entertain. Everything about the palette of Fall is inviting and welcoming and gives us license to kick-back and be casual with friends.
And this Autumn palette works for all of our party preparations. The use of deep purples, oranges and greens combined with a little shimmery metallic or glitter can set the stage for a wonderful feast. Our decor can borrow inspiration from the very food we prepare. A beautiful symbiotic relationship.
Entertaining becomes hearty and warm as guests can dig into a beautiful soup or savoury casserole. It definitely is a come-one, come-all vibe that grounds us back to good food, good friends and good times.
While perusing recipes for myself to try, I found myself locked in an ever-evolving rotation of pictures and recipes that had my eyes popping and my mouth salivating. Here are just a few that I think would be awesome for a get together (or maybe even just for yourself to try).
Potato, Squash & Goat Cheese Gratin
Coconut Curry Pumpkin Soup
Caramelized Figs, Bacon & Honey
Squash and Broccoli Rabe Lasagna
Curried Sweet Potato Soup
Yum. Now it’s time to create and enjoy. What’s your favourite recipe for Autumn?
