A few weeks ago I was delighted to be a guest at a friends baby shower. This wasn’t your typical weekend afternoon of ladies having brunch and opening gifts. This evening shower hosted both the girls and the guys and featured games, amazing food and perfect styling! It was fun and different to let the men join in on all the festivities…maybe a trend here?!

I talk often about having a theme and carrying it through and the hosts of this shower did just that. Knowing they were having a boy, they opted for a wintery blue and cream palette that was carried through the decor, table settings and featured dessert table. Having a good basis of a theme really allows for all your elements to come together nicely and provide a main focal for you to check back into.

I thought the dessert table was the star of the show and just had to share all the cuteness.

I loved how the wintery feel carried through so beautifully, and while it was a very sophisticated feel, the baby vibe was always top of mind. Paying special attention to the little details can really round out your design and zeroing in on a feature, like a dessert table, means that you don’t have to cover every inch of your space with decor.
