So….pantone released their hottest colours for Spring 2013 and I am beyond excited. I love, love, love the palette!!  It doesn’t hurt too that some of my favourite hues are included in the mix.

What I love about this palette is that many of these colours pair so nicely together, but also work well as the dominant colour. None will overpower another, yet each is distinct in their own regard.  I guess those guys at Pantone really know what their talking about!

The colour report is actually put out every year right at the beginning of New York Fashion Week and predicts the hot colours for both men’s and women’s fashions for the Spring. According to the Pantone Institute, this year’s palette looks “for balance between light and bright, classic and new.  This season’s color palette emphasizes this need for balance, while at the same time allowing for individuality, self-expression and excitement.”

What is so fantastic about fashion and design is that it can provide so much inspiration for parties and events. And I am seeing so much that can be done with this palette.  One of my favourite combos is a purple hue matched with a green tone…hello, I’m seeing that here! But I can also see a combination of Monaco Blue and Nectarine for an interesting nautical vibe or a Dusk Blue and Linen for a pretty, soft and elegant match.  The possibilities are endless.
