I love a good colour story, and many of the events and parties I style and consult on, have a theme that is routed in colour.

Blush and Gold is one colour combination that I will always adore.

It never goes out of style and seems to be relatable any time of the year. While there are feminine elements to this palette, it can work for so many parties. It can portray so many different feelings from romantic, to cheerful, to chic.

I love it.

So what better colour combination to base an inspiration design around right? I’ve wanted to pull a table inspiration together for a while using Blush and Gold and with Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it seems quite fitting.

Blush is one of those soft shades of pink that can have varying degrees of depth; it can be just a whisper of colour, faint, almost a nude, or it can bear a bit more richness and be a very, very soft pink.  I chose to style this table with a bit more on the subtle pink as I wanted an extra layer of depth to the look.  Faint pops of a fairer blush pop up in some items as I believe that it is always important to add layers and degrees of colours within the theme to really define the look.

Two Essentials for a Table

  • Linen. Honestly, there is no other element in event planning and styling that can transform a table quite like linen. Whether it be a runner or full table cloth, think about the linen as one of the first elements of your design. Look for fabrics that are on sale or clearance so that you can incorporate it without a huge expense. The linen I used (which I totally love) was marked down from $14/yard to $3/yard…so I grabbed the last remaining 4 yards and presto, I have a great anchor to my table setting for less than $13. This linen was double width so it worked really well as a full table cloth, but smaller widths can be folded for table runners or manipulated in other ways. Just go for it.
  • Florals. And if not florals than something, like a ton of candles, to really ground the table. I like florals because that is where I can really bring my colour theme through. Using many vases creates an elongated feel and helps to fill the table. Use different sizes to create interest and height.

Love the blush and gold settings: flowers were breathtaking! Who ate the heart shaped cakes?

I love blush and gold together too. Florals area a great way to infuse colour into a table setting and can be done without too much added expense. These florals were purchased at a local grocery store for under $30 but they give such impact.

[…] In this lovely table setting, I used a chiffon that had gold detailing. This isn’t commonly found so I snatched it up right away. To see more of this look check out this post: Blush & Gold Inspiration. […]
